Students will ...
1. Dissect familiar and unfamiliar music identify musical expressions (meter, dynamics, articulations)
2. Improvise tonal patterns with and without accompaniment
3. Compare meters (partial synthesis)
4. Read and write rhythm notation (symbolic association)
5. Audiate and identify tonalities
6. Locate tonal patterns in notation of familiar songs
7. Change chants from duple to triple meter and vice versa
8. Practice hearing and identifying and audiating chord changes - add subdominant and subtonic
9. Accompany songs with Orff instruments - particularly xylophones
